Women’s business session – women’s business photos

An image session performed by a professional photographer is a reliable way to build your personal brand. Nowadays, when a huge part of our business activity takes place online, it is important to take care of your online image. Let’s remember that we may never meet some business partners in person because they live, for example, on the other side of the world. Professional portrait photos that we post online are often the only way for them (unlike the people we surround ourselves with on a daily basis) to get to know us.
Professional women’s business session – show the best version of yourself

A female business photo session will allow us to create the image of a professional, which will definitely help build trust – run a business or climb the career ladder. It is worth emphasizing that one visit to a photo studio is usually enough for several years – the photos will earn money for a long time (we decide when to refresh our image). It is important to emphasize that business photos are not a scam. Their goal is to show our professionalism, and this effect can be achieved by emphasizing the features we already have. Let’s remember that the business nature of photography does not mean that the photos cannot have a feminine character. On the contrary, naturalness and authenticity are always welcomed.

You must be aware that in the case of a business photo, every detail counts – facial expressions, posture, styling, make-up, manicure, jewelry (and other props), hairstyle, surroundings. If these elements are not 100 percent consistent (for example, an elegantly dressed woman holding a managerial position will have unkempt hands) – the recipient may unconsciously and almost automatically detect these discrepancies and, as a result, these small details may affect how we are perceived.

Business and corporate portraits – who to commission to take photos
The profession of a photographer is currently not regulated in any way (no schools or courses are needed to practice it). To offer business sessions, you only need to have photographic equipment. This situation makes it really hard to find a real expert (and getting a professional shot is much more difficult than taking a selfie). Remember that the photographer should present his portfolio to us. If the photos contained therein do not meet our expectations, do not be afraid to resign from cooperation and look further. We have too much to lose. Bad photos undermine our credibility.
Remember that technical skills and photographic knowledge are not always enough. A good photographer is also a psychologist – the client should feel safe and at ease in his company. It would be good for a person performing this profession to have knowledge in the field of image psychology.

Professional business photos – how to prepare for the session
We start preparing for the session by meeting the photographer we hired to perform the session. We need to determine together what the atmosphere of the session should be, we think about the location – the photos can take place outdoors or at the company’s headquarters, what goal we want to achieve with this session, what character traits we want to highlight, what emotions we want to evoke in the person viewing our photos. If our work involves creation, it may be worth showing your creative process in photos. An important element of preparation is rest (it is good to sleep at least 8 hours before taking photos) and eating a light breakfast. We will do your hair and makeup on-site using the services of a proven makeup artist. We usually come to the session unpainted. There is no point in starting the session with makeup removal, which will unnecessarily irritate the facial skin. Wash your hair the day before the session – the next day your hair will be more manageable.

A hat, a scarf, or maybe a suit – how to dress for photos?
Some women spend a lot of time wondering what outfit to pose for photos. There is no clear answer to this question. It all depends on the specific nature of our business. We adapt our outfits to the nature of our work and our individual habits. I usually recommend that styling be redundant – it’s better to bring more outfits with you than to bet all your cards on one selected styling. It is true that most women decide to stick to the business dress code (usually a pencil skirt and jacket, or an elegant dress), a timeless and classic image. However, this does not mean that we have to act in the same way. If we want, we can choose a creative, bolder and diversified image.

It’s worth choosing clothes that make you feel best. Not everyone has to look the same. By breaking patterns, you show your strength. Your personality is the most important thing (especially when you work in a creative industry). The only thing to remember is to avoid clothes in reflective colors, transparent clothes, and clothes with very small patterns (they don’t look good in photos).
It is worth thinking about carefully ironing our wardrobe, because the camera has the ability to detect even the smallest creases (and this would be detrimental to your image). We should look good (for women, the visual aspect is particularly important), because then we will feel self-confident.
Female business photographs are becoming more and more popular, photos that aim to present women as professional and self-confident people.
An increasing part of the search for new products, services or employees is now carried out via the Internet. Building trust in the workplace and in business in general is based on presenting ourselves in a true and honest way. Good business photographs will help you increase your visibility and credibility in the eyes of potential clients, employers or business partners. Let’s talk about your image needs.
