Professional business photography is becoming more and more popular among men in various positions. The elegant image of an expert in your industry makes it much easier to achieve your business goals. The times we live in give us many new perspectives, but they also involve certain limitations. We have an unprecedented opportunity to establish cooperation with clients and business partners from other countries, all without having to leave home. At the same time, we have to face great competition. A customer who would once use our services only because we operate in his city can now shop or take advantage of the offer of a company located, for example, in another European country. Portrait photos taken by a good business photographer allow us to stand out and make potential recipients of our products and services decide to trust us.

Men’s business photos – what are the effects of a men’s session, are they worth the money spent on them?

Both women’s business sessions and men’s sessions have one goal – to show us in the most positive light and make us perceived as specialists in our industry. At the same time, it is worth noting that the emphasis in image communication between men and women is slightly different. In most cases, women focus more on the relational aspect, while men want to appear more active. This is, of course, a big simplification.

Differences in how we want to present ourselves affect the course of the session. Before the session itself, we arrange a consultation during which we talk about previous professional experience and set image goals to be achieved during the session.

Great men’s photographs can be an investment for years. If we entrust them to a professional, they will earn money for a long time.

Men’s photo session step by step – what every man should know

Photos resulting from the work of a business photographer can be placed on a LinkedIn profile, CV (they can significantly facilitate the job search), on the official website of our company, in the press, on the company intranet, in teams, Zoom or any other platform we use for work, on blogs or covers of books we have written.

The place where the photos will be taken depends on our individual preferences. It may be a photography studio, a well-selected location (so that the chosen place complements our image narrative) or the headquarters of our company. Scheduling photos in the office has its advantages – it allows you to minimize the time needed for logistics. We don’t have to worry about bad weather conditions. An additional benefit is that the people photographed can return to work almost immediately.

What to wear for a men’s session – tips for men

There are no strict rules when it comes to what clothes we will wear for photos. The starting point should be reflection on what clothes we usually wear and what style suits our profession. We can choose an elegant, but also smart casual set. It all depends on how we want to be perceived. Some men choose a suit, while others choose an elegant top (e.g. shirt and jacket) and less formal bottoms (e.g. chinos). Good quality accessories will work great – most often it is a watch, subtle jewelry, cufflinks, and a well-chosen pocket square. If we wear glasses every day, I encourage them to appear in our portrait.
